As many countries have aspects of their history that they would rather not discuss, that does not give us a right to deny it. It is very important that we do our due diligence and honour those who have come before us and the greatest way to do this is to learn and share truths in love.
The term, "Reconciliation" is not just a means of reparation, rather, it is an opportunity to reflect, heal, and grow together. So, as we distinguish ourselves from our past and prepare ourselves for our future, let us cultivate a foundation of togetherness and ensure that our narrative is one that past generations could smile at, current generations can get behind, and the upcoming generations can lean into with understanding, and a sense of respect and hope.
Challenge for this week - Learn something new and with honesty and integrity. Reflect on what it means to you and how you can share your new discovery with someone who can and will appreciate it.
